Australia take on New Zealand

This edition of Inside Australian Cricket brings you a preview of Australia's VB Tour of New Zealand, where they will play two Twenty20 Internationals, five ODIs and two Tests against the Blackcaps.

We review the dominant summer Australia has had against the West Indies and Pakistan. With the ICC World Twenty20 fast approaching followed by the 3 mobile Ashes series in 2010-11 and the ICC World Cup to follow, it's an exciting period for all three forms of the game.

Veteran paceman Brett Lee has officially announced his retirement from international Test cricket.

Cricket Australia Travel Office has extended the ACF priority period for purchasing travel packages to 12 noon, Monday, 1 March, due to overwhelming demand.

Australia off to NZ to take on the Blackcaps

Ricky Ponting's proclamation that Australia is extremely well placed in all three forms of the game will receive an immediate test during a crowded tour of New Zealand.

The Australians could have been forgiven for entering the 2009-10 season with one eye expectedly cast to the 'big ticket' events unfolding over the year ahead.

With the ICC World Twenty20 fast approaching followed by the 3 mobile Ashes Series in 2010-11 and the ICC World Cup to follow, it's an exciting period for all three forms of the game.

Lee: I'm not finished

Veteran paceman Brett Lee insists he still has plenty to offer in the shorter forms of the game after announcing his decision to retire from Test cricket.

Flanked by Australian captain Ricky Ponting and Cricket Australia boss James Sutherland, a composed Lee called time on his 76-match Test career at a packed media conference on Wednesday, 24 February, following a horror run of injuries. Read more here>>

Allan Border Medal

Australia's new wonder boy, Shane Watson, has been named as the winner of the 2009-10 Allan Border Medal. Watson has had a stand out 12 months in all forms of the game, at international level, and has been a major factor in Australia's continued good form. A clearly emotional Watson was surprised at his selection, and spoke candidly about what the award truly means to him. View here.

Cricket's night of nights has once again delivered on the Red Carpet, with Australia's top Men's & Women's cricketers all turning out for the gala affair at Crown Casino in Melbourne.
Many of the country's best turned out in impressive style, with the men looking to lead the way in the fashion stakes. However, there were many beautiful wives and girlfriends on hand to steal the attention away from their more photographed partners.

Ferns pip Stars

The Commonwealth Bank Southern Stars have fallen to New Zealand for the third time in succession in the third and final Twenty20™ match at Bellerive Oval on Tuesday night.

Once again it went down to the wire between these two evenly-matched teams with the Kiwis overcoming the home side by seven runs in the final over. Read more here>>
