The Aussies retain Champions Trophy and Ashes dates released to you first!

Congratulations to the Australian Men’s Team for their 6 wicket win over New Zealand in the final of the ICC World Champions Trophy. Shane Watson was named player of the match following an impressive spell at the wicket with an unbeaten 105 runs, which was his second consectuive hundred. Attention now turns to India, first for the 2009 Airtel Champions League Twenty20, where New South Wales and Victorian players take on 10 other teams from this Thursday. Then Australia take on India with a 7-match one-day series starting on 25 October.

Champions League provides stage for states to shine

The NSW Speedblitz Blues 2008-09 KFC Twenty20 Big Bash win gave them a pass to the inaugural Airtel Champions League Twenty20

It's not often that state cricketers get the opportunity to represent their home patch on the big stage, but the 2009 Airtel Champions League Twenty20 will place Victoria and New South Wales players in the spotlight for the inaugural tournament getting underway on Thursday in India.

The DEC Bushrangers and RTA Speedblitz Blues will go head-to-head with 10 other state or franchise based teams who qualified from Twenty20TM competitions in India, South Africa, England, West Indies and New Zealand. Read more here> and keep up to date on the latest news from our CLT20 home page
